Scholastic media associations serve as the backbone of journalism and media education in the United 91��Ƭ��s, providing workshops, conferences, contests and scholarships. Fifty state organizations support journalism students and educators across 46 states.

Two national surveys commissioned by the Center for Scholastic Journalism in 2011 and 2021 tracked the percentages of public high schools that support newspapers, yearbooks, TV programs and radio outlets.
