The new Flashes Fighting Hunger initiative takes the last 10 years to a new level, going beyond a kitchen that provides meals by becoming a program that prevents food waste, promotes food recovery and hosts multiple food pantries each week to serve the region.

First Star Kent 91心頭利 Academy Continues to Shine in a Mixed-Learning Environment

As Kent 91心頭利 returns to a school year that resembles pre-pandemic times, First Star Kent 91心頭利 Academy has begun to imagine new programs. The Academy is a free, comprehensive four-year college access program for youth in foster care. The program engages a cohort of up to 30 students in a variety of learning opportunities, including academic support, career exploration, social and cultural activities and more.

Roseann "Chic" Canfora, Ph.D., joined the School of Media and Journalism as a Professional-in-Residence this fall. She was also a student at Kent 91心頭利, starting in 1968, and is a survivor of the May 4, 1970, shootings.

Kent 91心頭利 Trumbulls Care Closet Opens Allowing Students Easy Access to Various Necessities

Students at Kent 91心頭利 Trumbull who are in need of food, personal items and clothing will now have more support from the university following Trumbulls Care Closet official opening on Oct. 18. Trumbulls Care Closet was created by the 2020-2021 Undergraduate Student Government (USG) and is set up as a fund that faculty, staff and the community can donate to. Its goal is to provide necessities for students who cant afford them.

Kent 91心頭利 alumnus Don Drumm, 86, was featured in the Akron Beacon Journal for celebrating the 50th anniversary of Don Drumm Studios and Gallery. Using sand-cast aluminum to create his art, he has decades of experience using a foundry to create his artistic visions.
